8th Grade Promotion Information
Promotion Event Description:
We invite our 8th grade students to a walk-through promotion event with two family members or important supporters of your choice. This will be an open house style format and you are welcome to attend at any time during the date/time window assigned to your team. The walk-through will not take a full hour so please arrive when it is convenient for you within your assigned window.
This event is intended for all 8th grade students. Please consider celebrating with us no matter which learning model you are currently enrolled in, either remote or in-person! Safety measures have been built into this event and masks will be required.Dates and TimesMay 26, 2021

Please Note: This is an open house style format. You do not need to arrive at the exact start time. You will make your way through the event whenever you arrive in the window of time you are assigned. For example, some Lynx students may arrive at 5:15 p.m., while others may wait until closer to 6 p.m. based on your family’s availability. The event is designed for a continuous flow, not specifically to accommodate all 200+ students at once.
Letter from Mrs. Drake, April 2021
When you arrive for the event, please park in the South parking lot and enter at the Activity Entrance, D7.
Your party of three (the student and two family members/supporters) will sign-in and begin your walk-through experience. You will walk down the hallway following the social distancing floor markings and watch a graduation video and view photos of Middle School highlights. (The graduation video link will be shared after the event to prevent bottlenecks at the video screens).
As you make your way to gym A, the student will be guided toward the stage, and the two supporters will make their way to the front of the stage for an unobstructed view for taking photos. The student’s name will be announced and they will pose for a picture as I hand them a certificate. Once the student leaves the stage, the walk-through is complete, and the party of three will exit the building.
We are working on a way to provide a live stream of the event for other family members and supporters, and there will be a prerecorded graduation video recognizing our 8th graders with graduation speeches and remarks. While not a traditional graduation ceremony, we hope you will enjoy the personal time to walk your student through the school and your “Front Row Seat” to view your student cross the promotion stage.
