Martha Gutierrez, Executive Director of Human Resources, is a professional with 27+ years of human resource management experience, the last 18 years have been in the public-school arena. She has notable experience in strategic human resource planning, performance management, staffing, federal and state law compliance, employment contract negotiations, employee benefits, compensation and payroll, training and development, and management coaching.
She holds a Master’s Degree in Instructional Design from Alverno College (Milwaukee, WI) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Professional Communication with a support in Business & Management from Alverno College as well. She has worked with the prestigious National Multi-Cultural Institute in Washington DC to become a master level trainer in cultural competency. As an adjunct professor at Carthage College she teaches School Law, a graduate level course. Ms. Gutierrez is a member of the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM) with a Professional Human Resources (PHR) designation/certification from the Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI). Ms. Gutierrez is also a member of the Illinois Association of School Personnel Administrators (IASPA) and the American Association of School Personnel Administrators (AASPA).
Ms. Gutierrez is a Certified Professional Coach who received her certification through the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching (iPEC). She’s also certified as an Energy Leadership Index Master Practitioner through iPEC. Ms. Gutierrez utilizes the Energy Leadership Index Assessment™, which helps individuals understand how their energy affects their engagement in life and how they “show up” in their life.
Ms. Gutierrez works with professionals who are in leadership roles in public education and are looking to understand the strategies they can employ to balance themselves between their personal life and their work life so that they can be more effective in their leadership role.
