Degrees and Certifications:
Mr. Ryan Wollberg
Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year!
It is with great excitement that I introduce myself as the Principal at Elementary West. I am eager to meet all of our students, families, and excited to welcome all new families to the Woodland School District. I am confident that this year is going to be a wonderful school year with many exciting learning experiences in store for our students. I wanted to share with you a little about me both personally and professionally. I began my teaching career as a member of the Woodland family. I am most appreciative of the opportunity offered to me to be the principal here at West.
While at Woodland, I completed my Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership through Concordia University and sought e very opportunity to continue to grow as an educator. After completing my degree, I became the Assistant Principal/Assessment Coordinator at Emmons Grade School in Antioch, Illinois.
I am married to my wife, and hero, Margaret, and we have a son Hunter, who keeps us both very busy. When not at school I enjoy spending time outdoors and enjoying nature with my family and friends. As the Principal of Elementary West, the staff and I will continue to focus on data to drive our instruction. Our staff at Elementary West are world-class, and we will continue to implement rigorous and relevant instruction.
This year we will continue to focus on goal setting with our students and having meaningful discussions with them to make the scores relevant to their individual needs. When a student takes ownership of their learning, it is truly amazing to see the academic growth that can be achieved. We will also continue to emphasize the whole-child while supporting our PBIS program through our ROAR tenants to Be Respectful, Take Ownership, Be Accepting, and Be Ready. One thing you will quickly learn about me is my excitement and enthusiasm for our students. I love interacting with my students on a daily basis and getting to know them on a personal level. In turn, I would very much enjoy the opportunity to get to know each and every one of you. Please feel free to reach out to me at any time and we can arrange a time to meet. If you see me say “hi” and please introduce yourself as I would love to meet all our Wildcat families.
The staff of Elementary West and I look forward to the upcoming school year. We are dedicated to providing authentic learning experiences that will be memories that will last a lifetime for your child. Together, we look forward to our student’s bright futures as we together continue to instill a love of learning in each and every child.
